Impington Film Club
On Saturday 9 May 2015, a new Saturday morning film club started. This is a chance for young people to learn about filmmaking, watch films and most importantly get a chance to create their own films. It will be suitable for those in Year 6 – 11. Young people will be guided by professional filmmaker Steve Wallis. The project will be running for the rest of the summer term, and if popular, we hope to continue in September.
To register your interest please contact Steve on email@example.com. All staff at the project are fully DBS checked and experienced at working with young people.
In September 2014 a monthly cinema night was launched in the Gropius Hall at Impington Village College. When the building opened in 1939 the design of the main auditorium included a projection booth so that films could be screened and enjoyed by the community. With the support of the Parents, Staff and Friends Association, cinema was back in the Gropius Hall for the 75th anniversary! The programme included films for different ages, plus refreshments were available each night including popcorn, sweets, snacks and soft drinks.
Are you interested in film?
The PSFA have launched a monthly cinema night in the Gropius Hall at IVC as part of the anniversary celebrations. Sunday Cinema started in September, and each month offers a different film for the community to enjoy. The project needs volunteers to help run the box office, refreshments and promotion, and also to help select the films which will be screened. If you would like to support this great new project please get in touch with firstname.lastname@example.org or 01223 200423.
IVC @75 Film
IVC@75 is a film created by young people that explores different experiences of school over the past 75 years. As Impington Village College has grown, has the experience of going to school changed? Join current students as they tell you what it’s like to go to school now, and as they discover how this compares to years gone by. The project has been supported by Histon and Impington Youth Committee, coordinated by filmmaker Steve Wallis, and has connected with current and former students of IVC. The film was successfully screened to the public for the first time at the anniversary weekend, and was shown again on Saturday 15 November 2014 as part of the Heritage Open Day.
